Suggestions on finding out ring size?.... How do you suggest finding out my girl's ring size, without being obvious... we've hinted at a future, and I want to have all the information in my head (what she likes, size, etc) when i go out trying to pre-shop..... but how should i know what size she wears so when i'm ready to dive in, i can do it...

Do you know any of her friends or maybe you could ask a family member? I don't think there is any way to go about finding out without her catching on otherwise lol
Unless... maybe just measure her finger while she is sleeping and then bring that measurement in to a jeweler and have them tell you what it equals to in jewelry sizing??

yeah i could probably ask one of her friends or my sister since they're best friends (but my sis doesn't live here anymore).... we already passed her bday so i guess it has to be a friend's christmas prep, etc...
i just have to be sure i find one that's not gonna get all girlie and give away the secret!

Does she have any other rings that fit that finger? If nothing else maybe you could put it on your finger and then try to get as close as you can with the sizing rings.

oh that's a great idea... she has so much jewelry... i'll watch and see which ones she may wear... and then grab that one for a day, take it at lunch to the shop for them to see what size it is, then replace it before she even notices!Originally Posted by *Coach*Lover*

Topher - the method Coach lover suggested is what my dh used when he was buying my ring.
It is so sweet that you're thinking about these things!
My husband asked to see my ring he put it one and then remembered how far it went he was then at the jewerly store and got sized to where my ring went on his finger.

I think they have some great ideas to figure it out!! Either "borrowing" one of her rings for a few hours when she's not going to notice, or the putting it on your finger and estimated how far it goes down is a great idea!!
My husband was totally unromantic and handed me a ring sizer.I would suggest not going that route....

Scott just guessed since he was in Washington DC and even though he was wrong, he wasn't WAY off, so I still thought it was sweet. Although, I hated to give it up to have it sized LOL

when my BIL went shopping for my sister, I took one of her old rings she rarely wore so he could have the size checked out.
Also you could guess and use her shoe size. Not always accurate but they usually are pretty close.

Troper you can also do this. Pick out the stone you like and get it put in some cheap setting. Most cheap settins are less than $100. Then the next day you guys can go pick out a nice setting.

well we were in target today and in the jewelry section they have a sizer thing with all the various sizes on one big ring... i was playing with it fidgeting like i normally do while she was looking at stuff... she came over and i was like oh i can see what size i am so i put it on and found out and she grabbed it and sized hers for me... so now i know :)

suck on a life saver until it fits her ring finger (test while sleeping) if she wakes up, just pretend to be sucking on her finger (akward, but whatever.. lol) bring said lifesaver to the store in a baggie. match up the ring to the inner lifesaver :)
The inside of rings is calculated to calculate the size. Rings are assessed on a numeric scale measured in quarters and half units with 0 being the least. Unluckily, the measurements don't speak about to inches or centimeters. A quarter sizes are equal to 0.032 inches. The measurement of your finger and engagement ring is best accomplished by an expert jeweler. This ring is too valuable and significant not to have the just right size.
Signature Disables - Check the Signature Rules and fix your signature. Afterwards post in the board suggestions to have your signatured enabled
