Thread: Product Review: Creme de La Mer

Maybe some of you ladies have heard of Creme de La Mer, a true luxury skincare product. 1 Fl oz sells for $110, but you don't use very much of it, at all on your face (maybe 1/2 the size of a pea) every time you apply it to your face. It is incredibly moisturizing, and soothing to your face. I got a small sample when I went to Bloomie's from the super nice SA.

I used it exclusively during my nasty product reaction around my eyes to Lush's Coalface soap. Along with the steriod medication, and my La Mer, my eye area is almost back to normal (a little dry still)

Yes, you can put this cream around your eye area, and there is no need for a separate eye cream.

If you've got oilier skin, I would not recommend that you purchase the cream. It is extremely mositurizing and will defintely cause oil to appear on your face prematurely.

I would ask the La Mer salesperson for a sample of the creme, so you can use it for a week before commiting to a large jar of it. I have not noticed more blackheads since I have been using it for 2 days (but I also gave myself a facial a few days ago and dug out all the blackheads with a sterilized extractor).

Honestly, you don't use very much, and unless you plan on using the creme all over your body, and every day, the creme would go bad (6 month-1 year shelf life) before you could use it all.

I would only like it for my face,thank god!

The story is actually true, the NASA guy did burn his face really badly, and utilized some chemists to help him come up with a suitable product to treat his burns. Later on, Estee Lauder purchased La Mer and continued the manufacturing on a larger scale.

I worked in the Estee Lauder manfacturing facility that produced the Creme de La Mer Creme as an engineer last year. The bio-ferment process that they use to make the creme is amazing technology and is utilized by a few different skincare products, not just La Mer. The unique thing about La Mer is that the Creme is made and individually bottled in the same day, which is a huge reason why it costs so much.

This cream is used by alot of celeb's & i dont want to seem like a poser if i buy it.

It's nice to finally know someone that has used this & can give me honest feedback.
Not to discount the salesgirl, but i question them alot.

well of course, they earn most of their money with commision sales, so it is easy to question them.

I have tried so many products, and only Estee Lauder's DayWear Plus face cream and Creme de La Mer have worked well on my skin.

I wouldn't steer you wrong girl!

nothing is more sly than a salesmen.

I sling fitness for a living part time. The other part I research fitness in a lab.

The origional Creme can be used around the eyes. Honestly, I would just add something with SPF in it for daytime on top, and then at night, just the creme again.

Today I noticed more blackheads than usual in the areas that I applied the Creme (around the nose and on the nose). I will be going back to my Estee Lauder moisturizer as soon as my skin clears up completely.

i worried about that -lol

Oh Pleasse, whoever uses this product, please report back. The money should not be that bad if it actually works, don't you guys think?

I have used the Creme de La Mer lotion and have experienced the same clogged pores as well. Maybe if I use this in conjunction with my Estee Lauder Idealist serum, I will have better results as far as clogged pores.

Oh My God! @ 1 thousand dollar bottle cream. Are you sure you're buying cream and not enrich uranium
