When I've returned stuff through UPS I just dropped it off and kept going...didn't get a receipt from them or anything but I guess you could ask. From what I've seen if it's a prepaid return label then they don't even scan it right then when you drop it off. Check with UPS and see what your options are.

And wtf about lying about UPS being on strike? And maybe no one actually "rented" that bag before....maybe Sally who works in the warehouse took it for a spin for a couple weeks.
    My randomness...

That is poor on BBOS's part that they would lie. Makes them look worse than they already do!

And for the hassle you have to go through, Cindy!

Cindy make a video of you packing it like in your car or something WITH the date and timestamp and then keep filming yourself going into UPS and handing it over. If they need it, send it separately.

i hope this mess could get out of your hair asap... now that we hear this horrible experience from you first hand, hopefully none of us will go that way.

i know what you mean about not trusting them, why should you after all this mess....

so Jodi just "forwarded" me an "email" from "UPS" saying they are not on strike any more honestly i think its fake, just like their fake customer service and their lack of communication about real issues.

this "new" bag is so scratched and so off it goes to UPS tomorrow. big PITA and A HUGE headache all for nothing, just to show that once again bag borrow or steal is such a bad company!!!!!!!!

lisa, i plan on take a LOT of footage of me putting the bag in the box, i will even write something on the tape around the box, like a seal so if its broken they will know one of their "trust worthy" employees helped themselves (again)

OMG - I'm new to this forum and just read through this entire thread. It's unbelievable! I'm shocked.

I have purchased several bags and rented a jewelry piece from BBOS over the past year without any such experience:

    1) I purchased a Rafe purse from the outlet at 65% off retail which was in like new condition - no scratches, marks, etc. I'm not sure it was ever carried, perhaps it just wasn't very popular?? I felt it was quite a bargain and the purchasing process was simple and without incident. I was happy with my first experience which stays pretty fresh in my mind... and the reason I continued to use BBOS. I go through phases where I still use the bag, but tend to grow bored of it rather quickly, lol.

    2) I also purchased an evening clutch through the outlet which was only 20% off retail (I think...maybe it was 30%) but was in almost new condition. No scratches etc. Again, the buying process was simple and without incident. I have since donated this one because it ended up being a little bigger than what I wanted to use on a regular basis. It wasn't the bargain like my first purchase but I didn't feel ripped off.

    3) And I rented and then purchased an adorable Donald Pliner small leopard print handbag. I can't remember the details since it's been awhile, but it was not a newly added item, so I guess it had been either rented for awhile or at least available for rent for awhile, because the purchase price was lower. It seems that the overall price, including the rent I paid, came to approximately 35% off retail, but I must admit my memory is fuzzy. I do remember when deciding on whether to return it and buy elsewhere as new or to "steal it" ... that it cost me less to keep it, even with what I had paid in the rent. The only wear on it was at the bottom edges where it had sat on surfaces. (Something I would expect to do myself through normal wear, not extreme.) I love this bag - it is still my "go to" bag. At the time, I found it worth what I paid, although not a bargain like you find in their outlet. Even now when I can't remember the exact details of the purchase, I feel it was worth the money, since I still use it so often and love it. I typically bore of a bag by now, lol. (My short attention span ... and too many other great bags to explore.)

    4) And finally, last year I rented a large topaz ring for a month to wear to a couple of special events during the holidays, and then returned it. It seems like it cost me $75 to have the perfect signature piece to match my outfit for these functions, and then return it without committing to a jewelry piece that I most likely would never wear again or if so extremely rare! I felt it was worth it. Returning it was simple and they received it promptly and without issue. It seemed painless to me.

I know that when I played with the math, renting only makes sense if you want to rent something very short term - like a week or month - for a special event and do not wish to commit to a purchase. ... And I think it is a good service for someone who wants to have a new bag each month but can't afford to purchase them all ... or just simply would not use the same bag for more than that month.... The true diva who wants to constantly be on the cutting edge of fashion - although shipping and reshipping bags every month would seem to get pretty cumbersome!

BUT .... Now reading through this post, I feel lucky and wonder whether my experiences are rare or the norm??? The fact your experience even occurred (whether typical or rare) is alarming!!! It is making me rethink future use of BBOS. I am currently considering another purchase (the Chloe Edith satchel) and now I'm not only wondering if I should get the bag, but if I should purchase through BBOS again!! I fear the condition I would get the Chloe in. Yikes. I may be better off saving up a little longer and getting it new from another source. ... although I haven't seen this particular one elsewhere. It may be a discontinued bag?

All I can say is that I am stunned by this thread ... and felt that I should share my experiences with BBOS as well.
