    Default Storing Your Handbags

How do you store your handbags? Dustbags or not? In your closet?

I used to have limited closet space so I bought a bookcase and stored them in their dustbags. I recently moved and was thrilled to see that my closet had a built in place that was perfect for handbags! I noticed that my bags that I didn't store in dustbags were used more, so I folded them all up and have my bags hanging out.

I went out and bought some hooks for my bbags and wristlets, and two rubbermaid tubs hold dustbags, authenticity cards, selling stuff.

On the other side of the wall, more hooks for scarves! Eventually clothes will probably cover the keepall & vera, but only about 1/3 of my clothes actually made it up here.

I had to share something I LOVE about my apartment because it seems like it has given me nothing but trouble this week (the dishwasher leaks EXCEPT for when the maintenance guy comes, the dryer is broken, I could go on, but I won't!).

Where do you store your bags?? Share your pics!

Looks like you have a lot of storage room. I like the way you've hung your wristlet and scarves.

We just have a regular ol closet and I hate it. I have only the top shelf of the closet on my side to put things. I'm seriously thinking about taking over the linen closet or at least half of it. Right now I have my bags in their dust bags and in shopping bags on the top shelf in my closet. Everything fits in two bags but not for long. =)

If only I could be that organized....

Right now most of mine are sitting out because I rotate them out so much. I have a trunk by my bed and they're lined up on top of it waiting on their turn. Ones that I don't use as much are in their dustbags and boxed under the bed.

I've finally organized mine a bit. I store them in their dustbags on shelves in our closets. Recently, I got little file cards with a hole punched in them and I've written the name of each bag on a card and then used a safety pin to secure it to the outside of the dustbag. Now I can finally see what's inside the bag without having to pull it down and looking inside. I'll post pics when I get home later today. DH says I should have color coded the tags as well but that was too much trouble.

Mine are stored on closet shelves with tissue paper inside them to keep their shape, and inside the dustbags. The small items are in either tissue paper or mini-dustbags in drawers. Some are in dustbags inside their original boxes--those are the seldom-used bags, like evening bags. I only have a couple scarves and they are folded up in their original boxes.

Your closet arrangement would make it easier to rotate the use of bags. I'm just OCD about keeping things covered.

At first, I was a little OCD about the vernis ... but I just make sure they're not touching anything.

I love your new closet!! (And I love how you have your Day bags hanging front and center! )

We have a small walk-in closet, relative to ones we've had before - so I've got to squish my essentials in and its really overflowing. Right now I have everything in bins & in their dustbags, I'll post pics when I'm upstairs on the computer with the closet pics...

However, I'm looking right now for a free-standing unit that I could put in our bedroom, to put an overflow of books into (I like reading mult. books and jumping around between books... so they don't all fit on my nightstand) and I desperately need additional bag & accessory storage... I'm hoping to have something by the end of September and just order it when I'm ordering the other stuff for the house...

So, I'm going to have alot of "before & after" type pics in the near future... but hopefully the pics I post later on tonight will definately be the "before" and I come up with a better solution...

I've got bags all over my closet.

Top shelf- Big crate with small Coach bags, many in dustbags, stack of Coach boxes with patent ergos on bottom, then 2 boxes of accessories, then Speedy, then Reade in box.

Then I have my out-of-season and tote bags stored in dustbags- and then in CA King Pillowcases

On the Left, on top of shoe rack (solid), I have Legacy and Signature Stripe Denim tote lined up, peeking out of dustbags. On top of a clear bin on the right, I have layered other totes, with the top layer (in dustbags) being 2 CA King Pillowcases with Tortillas in individual dustbags.

We have 2 good sized walk in closets in the master BR. My DH is a great carpenter and built out all of the shelves in them last year after we moved in. I got the big hook hanger for the scarves from Bed Bath & Beyond I think. The bags have stuffing in them to maintain shape. I haven't found a good way yet to organize the accessories so they are stored in boxes, the white outlet bags, etc.

My bf and I have a walk in closet in our bedroom. He gets the left side, and I get the right. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of space in it. Each side has a pole for hanging clothes, and then right above the pole in the top of the closet is one shelf that runs the whole length of the closet wall. I could have stacked my bags up there, but then that left a whole lot of unused space above them, because I wouldn't want to just stack dustbag on top of dustbag, because as soon as I pulled one out, they'd all come tumbling down.

So I went to WalMart and bought a few $9.99 white plastic shelf units. They have 4 shelves, and you insert plastic poles into holes in the 4 corners, and voila-shelves.

Well, I figured out that if I just put two shelves together at a time, they were the perfect height to go on top of that shelf in the closet. So I stack them next to each other and now I have a lot more useful space up there.

I store the bags filled with their tissue paper, and then in the dustbags, on those shelves. I suppose my next move will need to be taking polaroids or stealing Anne's index card idea to mark them. And then I think I really need to snag Lisa's 3M hooks for scarves idea, because that just rocks!

You mean my uber cheapo plastic shelves? *L* They're ugly as sin but they do the job. Sure I'll go take a picture right now. Just be warned that my closet is a horrid mess right now.
