Default Hmmm... what to wear to the Symphony?

Help! I don't have much time either... I'm going tomorrow.

So, one of the professors I am working for this semester offered me symphony orchestra tickets for tomorrow night, as his daughter is making a surprise trip home from college and you know how that goes... you always expect your parents to be available when you come back home. LOL...

Anyhow, I have box tickets for the symphony tomorrow, and I've never been to one before, hubby has but its been a while. What do you think I should wear??? I'm probably just going to try to pull things that I already have in my closet, possible get a new top and a clutch. I've been to the ballet & theatre before, so I'm assuming the evening wear theory is going to be similiar? Its at 8:30pm.

Any suggestions?? I'm at home right now for lunch, but I was going to go out later today and look for a clutch or any other pieces that I might need. (Top?? Sweater??) New shoes... I'm always looking for an excuse to get more of those. LOL...

I'm also super excited because this will be my first time since moving here, that we will actually be going into Detroit!!

    Alright, what should I wear?

I vote for nice black dress pants and a dressy top. Didn't you just buy some to wear to a wedding? I'm sure one of those would work. And a nice pair of black peep-toe heels (I love peep toes!)

Yes, black or another dark color always looks great. A little splash of color on top would be perfect with maybe some sparkly earrings or necklace. I'm not sure if it's too early for black velvet but I always like that as a choice. Black shoes are usually a good choice. Do you have a nice shawl or pashmina you could drape?

    Thank guys!

I did some initial shopping today, and I think I'm going to run down to the other mall tomorrow. I do still have that black top that I bought for Ash's wedding - but I have this thing with wanting things to be new for events like that. I dunno.

I got a top with some sparkle and I am thinking of wearing a 3/4 sleeve black cardigan over that with either black dress pants or a black chiffon tulip skirt. I think I still might need to pick up some sparkly shoes tomorrow though.

I was also thinking of grabbing a pashmina tomorrow, in case I go with a different short sleeve dressy top that I have. I think I'm getting my outfit worked out, now I just have to worry about what hubby is going to wear! LOL...

Ack! Sorry, I never got around to taking pics - but the event was really fun!!

I ended up wearing black dress pants, with a silvery gray/plum dress top and a 3/4 sleeve black cardigan, with my Bordeaux Francie pumps! The outfit fit in just fine, and we had an awesome time! (They served champagne... I always have a good time with champagne! )

Thanks for the advice! I was panicked beforehand, because I was wondering if I was going to need a formal or something- but we turned out to be dressed perfectly appropriately. (Hubby was in a dress shirt, tie, and sport jacket. That is painful enough for him.)

Queeneve to add the picture to your profile you have to edit your profile. You can follow that link for that. You can either have it as your avatar or your profile picture from there. The profile picture will only been seen when someone looks at your profile while the avatar will be seen by all your post. The other option would be to check out our image gallery and use that to just post a picture in this thread.
