Ok I've looked at bags on the Chanel website, but they don't show prices.
Where can I find out the retail on the bags?

I don't know of any catalogs in the US. Would a Chanel store or NM tell you if you asked about a specific style?

Probably but I'm very new to Chanel and I just like to know prices of things -- I browse around, you know, to get a feel for things. I don't want to call Chanel or NM and ask about every bag or accessory.. kwim?

yep i know what you mean.

i think that maybe you could try calling them about a few types of things so you can gauge price range.

Katie - I've been wondering this too!

We could team up and split up the items to find out about... There's a Chanel boutique in the Saks & NM by me, I wonder if I could just run back and forth between the two finding out prices?

I went to the Chanel trunk show in June, and there was a gorgeous- so soft... almost like a barrel or duffle style bag, from Chanel. I haven't been able to stop thinking about that one! That would be good inspiration to find out more about their products.

I do understand, Katie. We like to browse and know where we stand with prices and do some thinking on our own.

It almost seems the designers want to keep the details to themselves so we have to go to a store.

I'm not a Coach girl, but at least they have the details for anyone to look up online.

but why would they be so hush hush about prices online.

and personally i think they website is pretty hard to navigate through the selection of bags.

their website is AWFUL!

I mean it's flashy and cool.. but as far as usability goes.. it's crap.

I'm basically interested in bags < $1000 -- anyone know of where I can start looking - or if there even are Chanel bags for that price??

Hmmm there's the Classic Clutch that was about $895 but I think it's 900 something now. It's small though. It fits a good amount for a clutch though. (If that makes sense... ) My mom had it and really loved it but sold it to fund a new Chanel bag and wallet. Unforunately, there's not much for under $1000. I think they have some pochettes for like 800 or 900, I'm not sure. I don't know if they have those anymore. I agree, their site makes me mad. LOL. It's hard to navigate, and the fact that they don't have prices ticks me off. My thinking is that because Chanel is a luxury brand that they don't want to disclose the prices online for the public to see. I don't know though. Notice how if you go to louisvuitton.com they don't have prices. (Although eLuxury does).
